About Matt Bunt BSc (Hons)

Towan Media Creative Director

Matt began his career whilst still at College studying an Advanced GNVQ in Media Production, supplying Marketing, Design and Online solutions for clients including the new and exciting Cornwall Classic Car Hire, Cornwall-Photos.com and the Kernow Youth Football League.

Although on a professional basis, the skills all helped to achieve a Distinction in his course. Matt then went to University in Salford, Greater Manchester where he gained a First Class honours degree in Professional Broadcast Techniques.

It was also at this print that he was bitten by the radio bug, by developing and project managing the University’s Radio “Shock Radio” station for 3 RSL broadcasts. This involved dealing with a large team, working to very tight financial constraints and developing the saleability of the station to clients to ensure it’s future.

Continuing his RSL experience, Matt took on the role of Broadcast Manager for the popular and successful “Malibu Surf FM“, an established RSL which runs every Summer in Newquay, Cornwall in 2005.

In 2006, Matt became part of the launch team for Atlantic FM, a commercial radio station covering the whole of Cornwall. Matt was able to experience all aspects in the station, helping schedule the music and and his main role was the “Sponsorship and Promotions” manager.

This was working on marketing projects for clients on a daily basis, utilising not only on-air mediums, but also print based design, and online development. Some of the clients we have developed marketing elements and promotions for include St. Austell Brewery, NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly, Winners Personnel Recruitment amongst many others.

Matt decided to start this business as a full-time interest in March 2009, after the volume of work and clients increased greatly. Despite leaving the full-time employment of Atlantic FM, Towan Media continued to supply production, marketing and design services until they became Heart in May 2012.
